Hot Set Props

Logo and Site Design

When two prop stylists and art directors decided to form Hot Set Props, they were both looking to put their taste for shopping to good use as well as break out of the Old World Boy’s Club energy that dominated prop rental houses in their industry. This meant a queer-friendly workplace, an eclectic assortment of props and a modern, streamlined inventory that could be browsed and reserved online. Their skillful DIY nature and radical pasts informed the overall look and feel of the design; both like a waving flag declaring their presence and a hot flame whipping up into the sky. A bold, bright, beacon: this logo needed to stand out as a sticker on set as well as guide the clean layout of a site with thousands of varying props to filter and sort through. The result is a strong, consistent mark and a dynamic, flexible design system that lends itself to any application in their hands-on punk zine xerox aesthetic.
